We welcome all employees of Berlitz (instructors and staff) to join BEGUNTO.

Dues that members pay help support our activities (such as maintenance of day to day union operation expenses and postal costs, etc) which in turn support you and benefit all workers.
Members who work more than 100 lesson-periods contribute 2,500 yen per month. For all other members, it’s 1,500 yen by bank transfer or by hand at Begunto meetings.

*Members are not required to attend any meetings, but have the right to if they desire.

The Union offers added protection to its members, as shown in this Labor Management Agreement:
“When management decides that an allegation of misconduct is serious and may lead to disciplinary action, it will schedule a “method” with the employee for the purplse of fact-finding. The employee has the right to request the pesence of a union representative in that meeting.”
